NEW YORK CITY — Bleary-eyed straphangers saw Monday morning rush hour delays on 10 subway lines, MTA officials said. The main delay hit four lines — the E, F, M and R — after a train's brakes activated near Forest Hills-71st Avenue, the MTA posted at 7:44 a.m. And even after that delay was resolved, northbound E trains — along with C trains — ran with delays after a door problem at 14th Street, according to an 8:44 a.m. MTA post. A passenger who needed medical help at Myrtle Avenue prompted delays for Broad Street-bound J and Z trains, an 8:49 a.m. post stated. A mechanical problem on an L line train at Eighth Avenue prompted delays running in both directions, according to an 8:09 a.m. post. Crew shortages caused some delays for B trains, a 7:30 a.m. post states. "We're running as much service as we can with the train crews we have available," the post states. Likewise, the Staten Island Railway's 7:46 a.m. train from St. George to Tottenville didn't run because of crew shortages, according to a 7:27 a.m. post. Track all MTA subway alerts and delays here.
