2 Fatal Crashes Reported In Woodbridge, Police Search For Witnesses

WOODBRIDGE, VA — Authorities in Prince William County are still investigating a pair of crashes that killed two people over the weekend in the Woodbridge area. Authorities said a motorcycle rider died in a crash on Friday evening, while another driver died in a single-vehicle crash on Saturday morning. Police identified the deceased motorcycle rider as Ricky Raiseem Whittington, a 40-year-old man from Woodbridge. Police believe the deceased driver was a 54-year-old man from Dumfries, though authorities have been unable to confirm his identity. Another driver, 31-year-old woman, suffered minor injuries on Friday night during the crash with Whittington's motorcycle, police said. The motorcycle crash occurred around 9:30 p.m. on Friday, at the intersection of Neabsco Mills Road and Smoke Court. Authorities said Whittington was travelling westbound on Neabsco Mills Road when he struck a 2004 Lexus RX330 that was making a left turn onto Smoke Court. The collision threw Whittington from the motorcycle, police said. Police officers and rescue personnel attempted CPR, but Whittington was pronounced dead at the scene. Investigators believe that speed was a factor in the crash. The second fatal crash occurred around 3 a.m. on Saturday in the 3700 block of Graham Park Road in Triangle, according to police. Investigators believe the driver of a 2007 Toyota Camry was travelling westbound on Graham Park Road when he lost control of the car, crossed the double-yellow line into the opposite lanes, left the roadway, and hit a tree. The vehicle then caught fire and was fully engulfed in flames, authorities said. The driver, who was the only person in the car, was pronounced dead at the scene after firefighters extinguished the blaze. Investigators believe speed was a factor in the crash. Authorities have been unable to confirm the driver's identity due to his condition after the crash. He was taken to the Office of the Medical Examiner for further identification. Authorities believe the driver may be a 54-year-old man from Dumfries. The police department said his identity would be publicly released when it is confirmed and his next of kin is notified.
