MAD Sounds is a series of Saturday afternoon musical performances through January 2nd, 2021, in the MAD Galleries
Artists include international soloists, Grammy-nominees, and members of the New York Philharmonic and the Metropolitan Opera Orchestra, presenting brief solo or duo acoustic sets. Performances will take place on the hour and half hour, between 2-5pm, with a 15-minute break between sets to ensure Covid safety compliance. The musicians will perform two different sets, including works from the Baroque through modern day, with particular attention to the inclusion of work by BIPOC composers, and when possible to create a synergy between the artworks in the gallery and the music. The guests will have the opportunity to learn about the works being performed, and the short concerts are intended to enliven and enhance the art on display, as well as give music lovers an opportunity to hear live music safely.
