HOBOKEN, NJ — As the first day of summer nears and some Hoboken residents wait to hear back about the Weehwaken pool complex, they will get two options in town for swimming: The Stevens Institute pool and the Hoboken High School pool. The city recently inked a deal to let Hoboken residents use the Stevens Institute of Technology indoor pool, but the website says the facility is not open yet. The website indicates that there will be individual and family pricing options for Hoboken residents by day, 2-week period, or month. So far, the city has only released these rates: "Residents can also purchase year-round pool access through daily, weekly, or monthly memberships by following the same registration process. The pool fee is $20 for one day, $35 for two weeks, or $55 monthly. Senior citizens get a discounted rate of $15 per day, $25 for two weeks, or $35 monthly." Hoboken has asked the city for more detailed rates (such as children under 18) and is waiting to hear back. Meanwhile, Hoboken residents will be able to use the Hoboken High School pool some afternoons in summer, said Schools Superintendent Christine Johnson in a newsletter this week. "The district will once again provide the Hoboken Recreation Department with access to the pool in the afternoons for the city's program," she wrote. "For more information, contact the Hoboken Recreation Department." The information has not yet been released by the city.
