ANNAPOLIS, MD — Two victims were shot in Annapolis this weekend, city police announced. Both victims walked into the Anne Arundel Medical Center before medics flew them to the University of Maryland R Adams Cowley Shock Trauma Center in Baltimore, officers said.
Authorities said they responded to the Anne Arundel Medical Center around 2:30 a.m. Saturday after hearing that the victims went to the hospital.
The victims were walking in a parking lot on Melrob Court when two male suspects approached them. Both suspects had their own guns, the Annapolis Police Department said. Officers think the males were trying to rob the victims.
The suspects and the victims got into a physical fight. One of the suspects fired their gun, authorities said.
Police said the bullet grazed one victim's arm and continued on to hit the other victim in the chest.
Officers said the suspects fled in an unknown direction.
Medics airlifted the victim with the chest wound to shock trauma first. The grazed victim followed soon after, authorities said.
