Description

CONCORD, NH — Concord police and a state medical examiner are investigating a death at a homeless camp off Storrs Street. At just after 10:30 a.m., police dispatch received a call about a dead body in a tent at a site along the railroad tracks behind the old liquor commission building. The caller had left the scene before first responders arrived. Officers as well as fire and rescue teams arrived and made their way about 100 yards down the tracks to the camp. Firefighters confirmed the person was dead, and a state medical examiner was requested. An officer requested a second officer, before they arrived, to bring a box as well as medical gloves to the site. At around 11:45 a.m., the state's medical examiner reported to the campsite to investigate the death, police dispatch said. The area was previously part of an extensive cleanup effort by Brixmor and others, even though the companies do not own the property. The area where the camp is located is owned by the state and Pan Am. Concord NH Patch will update this post when more information becomes available. Got a news tip? Send it to [email protected].
