WESTERN SPRINGS, IL – Western Springs' former deputy police chief, who resigned soon after being suspended in April, is getting a pension.
Albrecht filled out an application requesting a pension on May 6, five days after he immediately resigned from the police department. Records indicate he was under some type of investigation.
According to the application, Albrecht is 51 years old with 22½ years of service with the local department.
His salary upon leaving was $129,323, with his annual pension expected to be $71,127, according to village documents. His monthly payment works out to $5,927.
Patch obtained the documents through a public records request.
At the May 18 police pension board meeting, members approved Albrecht's request.
On April 12, Police Chief Brian Budds suspended Albrecht. The leave was effective immediately.
