The Seasonal Green Roof Maintenance Technician (SGRMT) is an entry level green roof maintenance position. Seasonal Green Roof Maintenance Technicians help maintain existing green roofs and occasionally assist in green roof installations. SGRMTs are expected to have some experience working outdoors in all weather conditions. SGRMTs are expected to be able to travel 50% of the time M-F; However, there will be days and weeks where our work is local and does not require overnight travel. This is a seasonal position that will conclude at the end of the maintenance season in October of each year. Responsibilities: • Dead head / cut back perennials and prune woody plant material • Identify and mechanically remove weeds from established green roofs • Apply fertilizer based on soil requirements • Plant perennials, shrubs, and trees • Trouble shoot and fix minor irrigation problems, adjust irrigation controllers • Use power equipment, including drills, string trimmers and air compressors • Load/unload trucks with equipment, tools, and materials • Transport crew members, equipment, tools, and materials to job sites • Work safely at all times Minimum Qualifications: • Familiarity working in landscape maintenance • Willing to work outdoors in all types of weather • Valid driver’s license, clean record • Able to travel regularly for project work • Able to lift 40 lbs • Demonstrated great attitude and work ethic; Demonstrated team player • Demonstrated punctuality and communication Preferred Qualifications: • Familiarity working with power tools and driving trucks • First Aid/CPR/AED • OSHA 10 Pay/Benefits: Living Wage rate for Buncombe County by WNC Economics - $18-20/hr. Employees traveling overnight will receive a Per Diem for meals & incidental expenses. Paid holidays include New Year’s Day, Memorial Day, Independence Day, Labor Day, Thanksgiving Day and the Day after Thanksgiving, Christmas Eve, and Christmas Day Please visit our website to learn more about our company.
