Accordionist wanted for Oktoberfest project. Could lead to gigs in an established Irish band as well. The goal is to get several fun Oktoberfest gigs and maybe keep the project going if it seems right. The Oktoberfest repertoire would be the kind of stuff that actually gets played at Oktoberfest in Munich--a mix of German classics (Fliegerlied, Bayern Des Samma Mia, Viva Colonia, Rosamunde, Esel-lied, Sierra Madre, Ein Prosit, Liechtensteiner Polka) and the crowd-pleasing pop songs (Sweet Caroline, Country Roads YMCA, 99 Luftballoons, Seven Nation Army, Hey Baby, Living Next Door to Alice). Plus a couple of American polkas (Free Beer Polka, I'm Gonna Get a Dummy) and originals. I'm the lead singer of Stout Rebellion--a long-running Sac-area Irish drinking-songs band. I play guitar. Our whistle player is an awesome clarinetist. And we may have a tuba player lined up. (Will know soon.) Naturally, an Irish band could always use an accordionist, so, if things work out, there could be gigs on that front as well.
