Blue-tick Coonhound puppy

Description

We need to rehome a young puppy we found in a ditch in South Carolina about three months ago. He is estimated be around 6-7 month, about 37lbs now and has seen a vet but no rabies shot done by us yet. He appears to be pure bread Blue-tick Coonhound. His name is Hunter, as that is what blue-tick coonhounds are typically bred for. He is extremely rambunctious, howls quite a bit when bored, but sleeps very well at night and is mostly potty trained. He needs to be in a home with a big fenced yard and lots of exercise is a must or he goes wild 😊 He Is decent with older kids but can chase and jump on them, so being around younger kids might not be a great idea. We have four kids ages 3, 5, 7, and 9, and because of his strength and energy (jumping, running, knocking them over, scratching) they don’t really like him. Not sure how he is with other dogs or cats in a home but there have been a few dogs he has been around in public and he has either not reacted, or just howled. 🤷🏼‍♀️If you know and love this breed, and have the time and means, he can be a great dog! We don’t have a yard and underestimated his “wildness”. He will come with everything we have here for him, his toys, bed, nail clippers, food/water dishes, food, etc. A more experienced dog owner is recommended. Hunter has mastered the commands of “sit”, and “lay down”, and is working on “stay”. Obedience training is a must in his future no matter who takes him. A small rehoming fee will be required.
