Description
OAK FOREST, IL —Oak Forest residents should not worry if they hear an explosion this week, according to officials from the Cook County Bomb Squad.
The Cook County Department of Emergency Management and Regional Security is partnering with the squad to conduct a training at the former Oak Forest Hospital campus near Cicero Avenue and 159th Street.
The training is scheduled to take place Monday through Friday from 7 a.m. to 3 p.m. both indoors and outdoors on the campus. Officials said officers will be using inert explosive devices that will sound similar to a flash-bang.
Inert explosive devices are used in trainings to simulate explosions.
