ELMHURST, IL – Two drivers cut each other off heading north on Route 83 into Elmhurst earlier this month. Two men in one car called the woman driving the other a "b----" a few times, then she threw a Taco Bell cup, hitting the passenger in the face, police said. Patch obtained the full police report through a public records request. Ana Ramirez-Perez, 22, of Addison, was arrested on charges of battery and criminal damage, police said. Police interviewed all the participants in the road rage incident, which took place about 11:30 p.m. June 2. Their stories were similar. Ramirez-Perez told officers she had just gotten off work from The Cheesecake Factory in Oak Brook, driving a Ford Fusion. She said the men in the Chevrolet Camaro cut her off. According to the report, she threw the cup with Mountain Dew while they were at a stoplight. The two men got out and pulled on her handle, yelled "What the f---?" and asked her to get out of the car, police said. Ramirez-Perez said she drove away frightened, police said. After they all entered Villa Park, officers there pulled them over. One of the men was 19, the other 26. They said they had just left Life Time fitness center in Oak Brook. They said they merged lanes on Route 83 because of construction, saying there was plenty of space. The men alleged Ramirez-Perez sped around them and cut them off. The driver said he got out of the car because he wanted her to pay for any damages to his car. The passenger said he did not want to press charges against Ramirez-Perez because he didn't want to ruin her life. But the officer said she would get ordinance citations because the passenger told police initially he wanted her to get a ticket, the report said. The passenger had redness on his right cheek, police said. Officers also said they saw wet stains on the car from the drink that Ramirez-Perez threw.
