MOBILE, Ala., (June 8, 2022) - Bishop State Community College and industry partners had a signing day to officially announce the student/industry partnerships for the participants of FAME on the Coast.
Participating industry partners include Outokumpu, FMC Corporation, and Alabama Power.
FAME on the Coast is the Gulf Coast chapter of the Federation for Advanced Manufacturing Education (FAME). It is an advanced manufacturing program that provides the technical, professional, and hands-on skills needed for Process Operations Technology. FAME students gain paid work experience while earning an associate degree.
FAME on the Coast benefits students, the community, business and industry, as well as Bishop State. It provides students with an opportunity to gain work experience they may students not otherwise have. It provides positivity and sustainable living wages to families to the community. Bishop State increases student enrollment and completion while growing industry partnerships which creates a talent pipeline for them while reducing their turnovers and recruitment cost.
