Looking for a responsible, mature, and trustworthy person to work a few times a week helping maintain a large property with numerous tree and other plantings. Work may also involve occasional feeding and watering of pet poultry and also providing periodic security checks on the house and property. Most of the work will be during the spring, summer, and early fall but may also need help off and on during the winter. During the growing season anticipate plant and tree care about three times a week for 3-4 hours at at time. Duties to include: 1. Making sure an extensive drip irrigation system is working properly. This is on a timer. Need to be able to inspect and replace emitter heads, look for leaks, and so forth. Troubleshoot irrigation problems with the system in a timely manner. 2. Hand watering some plants and trees. 3. Occasional brush/weed cutting with a walk behind brush cutter or with a hand held weed trimmer. 4. Ability to work outside in the heat. 5. Limited help with irrigation of a hay field about once every three weeks. Make sure water is flowing properly, gate is open, and so forth. 6. Periodic checks of the owner's residence when the owner is out of town making sure that there are no problems and reporting any issues with security, water, heating, etc.... 7. Feeding and watering poultry ( chickens and turkeys) on occasion and sometimes for a dog. This would be a good position for a retired or semi retired person who likes the outdoors and gardening and who is looking for a part time job. Generous hourly salary, negotiable. Must have references, no criminal record, non smoker, and preferably live in the Penrose/Florence area.
