Our technicians are critical the smooth operation of our apartment buildings and spend time: + making light electrical, plumbing, carpentry, and painting repairs. + preparing apartment units for new move‐ins. + scheduling and liaising with contractors, vendors and residents on property. + working in concert with site staff to provide the best possible service to our residents. + coordinating special projects as requested with Property Manager. + designing and completing preventative maintenance programs as needed onsite. + assisting with grounds work such as pick up, sweeping and light landscaping/snow removal. + maintaining inventory of materials required for apartment turns and maintenance. + participating in an on-call rotation with others to provide after-hours emergency only coverage. Experience and Requirements + Prior experience in residential maintenance preferred, through maintenance experience in a healthcare or hospitality setting will be strongly considered. + High school diploma or GED required. + Valid Driver’s License AND clean driving record required. + COVID-19 Vaccination required or the willingness to get vaccinated within 30 days of start. + Clear drug screen and passing a pre-placement physical required. The physical demands described here are representative of those that must be met by an employee to successfully perform the essential tasks of this job. + Regularly required to stand, walk, talk and hear. + Regularly required to navigate and carry tools and equipment up and down 3 flights of stairs. + Must be able to use hands and fingers to handle and feel objects, safely and reliably operate tools and controls. + Frequently must squat, stoop, or kneel, reach above the head and reach forward. Long periods of time are spent standing. + Daily uses hand strength to grasp tools, supplies and equipment. + Occasionally climbs step ladders. + Frequently lifts and/or moves up to 25 pounds and occasionally lifts and/or moves up to 100 pounds.
