Free Jazz Fest Concert Featuring The Bacon Brothers at Martin Luther King Park Stage What Is The SPACE Chef Challenge and Free Community Lunch Program? The fourth Friday of every month, the residents in SPACE, located at 45 Euclid St in Rochester, partner with other community leaders to serve the community free lunch. The need to feed has been exacerbated by the pandemic and has significantly slowed the progress of reaching the United Nations Sustainable Development goal number two, zero hunger, by 2030. Bottom line. People are hungry. So every fourth Friday, from 11:30am to 1pm at 45 Euclid St, expect to be served an exceptional meal for free. To add some flavor, fun and joy to this event, the partners participating have turned this into a Chef Challenge. The “challenge” is the chef gets the main ingredients one week ahead of time and has to create something for 75-100 people out of it. SPACE resident, Jason Hilton from POP ROC shares “The idea came as we've been volunteering to cook hundreds of meals a week through the pandemic for The Father’s Heart mobile food truck ministry that goes out faithfully every week to feed those in need. When we show up, oftentimes we have no idea what we’re making until that day. We take it seriously and try to make delicious meals out of whatever gets donated. We’re partnering with The Commissary Kitchen in the newly renovated Sibley Building and they have graciously donated their space to give every chef top notch kitchen facilities to create. It doesn’t matter who you are, where you’re from, or how much money you have, you get a free meal from a top chef!"
