Come celebrate with Syracuse Alumni the following: Syracuse Alumni's scholarship awardees Jeylani Haji and Nashawn Stenson and Lambda Kapp Mu Kopelles youth organization. Enjoy Kahoot Trivia, Divine 9 Stroll-Off, Raffles & DJ Showcase! This will be a very fun evening. Please wear your best Red and White attire. Since 1993, Syracuse Alumni has raised over $55,000 dollars and have awarded 37 scholarships. This year we will be awarding $1,000 dollars scholarships to three (3) very deserving young men in our community ($3,000 dollars total). In March 1993, the Syracuse (NY) Alumni Chapter dedicated a scholarship in memory of Brother M. Gilbert Kirkland. Brother Kirkland was affectionately known as the “Godfather” of the Chapter. He became a lifelong member of the fraternity and was a charter member of the Syracuse (NY) Alumni Chapter. In 2002, the scholarship fund received a generous bequest from the family of Brother Merle R. Greene, a founding member of the chapter. Brother Greene was a retired United States Army captain. He is remembered for his wit, wisdom, and dedication to the chapter. Kappa Alpha Psi Fraternity, Inc., founded in 1911, is a predominantly African American fraternity. The Syracuse (NY) Alumni Chapter of Kappa Alpha Psi was chartered on September 29, 1973, by 12 determined men.
