Description
Studio Rock Project Looking for its Voice We are a 2 piece studio project working on our first EP and we are at a stage where it is time to begin getting input from a vocalist. The project is mostly a labor of love. We are past the rock star aspirations and mainly doing this for ourselves and for a means of expression. Project will likely evolve into a live band next year but we intend to work smart and not too hard, necessarily. We won’t be playing every weekend every place that will have us, instead we will focus on a handful of meaningful, more impactful dates and opportunities. We want the EP to be special- something we are proud of 20 years from now. Along with the EP release, we have other ideas on how to express the band and document and share the work. We are currently producing burn tracks- we intend to record the entire record this way and then redo it again at Shock City or higher end studio with a producer who knows the music from the initial recording. There are just two of us and we like working this way- it’s easier to get to a consensus and move the process forward than if we had 5 people in the room. We definitely have a process and it’s been very efficient and yielded strong results. Now the part that might scare the right person off- we are youthful but in our mid 40s. We are thinking that the right vocalist for us might be younger, but it isn’t that important. Our influences between the two of us… Failure Shiner Faith No More (and all Patton projects) Cave-In Dredg King Crimson Yes The life and Times The Beatles Tool Table Fugazi Quicksand Helmet Houston Season to Risk Sunnyday Realestate We feel like there is someone out there who is talented as a vocalist, has a message that will mean something to people, and maybe just hasn’t found the band yet that is on their level. Someone authentic with something to say who isn’t a clear carbon copy of their idol. Someone of substance. We have been going out to catch some area bands and have not yet found a person that we felt compelled to approach. We collectively have many years of experience playing and performing with area bands- Clear Glass Religion, Milo, Asia Minor, Level, Heroes of the Kingdom, Astral Moth, Franklin Felix, and the Domani International are some acts we have been a part of separately. We have known each other for many years but never worked together in this capacity. If any of this resonates we are happy to send the tracks we are working on and learn more about you.
