Yes! It's a community chili cook off during a pandemic!
Come join us on Saturday January 30th in a chili cook off as we celebrate community... something that has become a past time during this COVID -19 pandemic. This won't be your traditional cook off where the event is at one location. Due to restrictions on public gatherings judges will be coming by your home or business to judge your chili.
1st Place = $200, 2nd Place = $100, 3rd Place = $50, Best Decorated Table = $50
This event will provide an opportunity to get to know our neighbors and allow us to once again be neighborly in a safe and fun manner. However, the chili cook off is more than just an event. It is a gateway to bringing awareness to our communities about the rise of domestic violence during this Corona Virus Pandemic. Avoiding public spaces and working remotely can help to reduce the spread of COVID-19, but for many victims of domestic violence, staying home may not be the safest option. It's imperative that we restore hope in our communities by bringing awareness of this epidemic to the forefront of our minds so we can be helpful to those in need. Advocates Against Family Violence (AAFV) is a local organization we have partnered with during this event. They are a great resource for those in need.
To participate, a donation of $5 is asked. Farmers Insurance-Troy Hooper Agency will match the cost of each $5 donation and all proceeds will benefit AAFV. If you can, additional donations are much appreciated.
After you have submitted your registration fee, keep an eye open for an upcoming email that will contain more detailed participant information.
