As a Snorkel Tour Guide, you’ll get the unique opportunity to inspire people to care about reef conservation as they encounter our reef on our Fort Lauderdale Snorkel Tour. We are looking for snorkel tour guides and a manager to join the Square Grouper SoFlo team and lead informational snorkel lessons and tours, manage the day to day operations of the business, and work closely with the owners to give updates and carryout objectives. To be clear we are looking for both tour guides and managers! TOUR GUIDE: Tour guides need to be an outdoor enthusiast with an interest in marine life, friendly, informational, outgoing, honest, responsible, hardworking, a strong swimmer who’s comfortable in the ocean (lifeguard experience is a plus!), enthusiastic, engaging, confident in public speaking and customer service, and willing to work weekends and holidays. Tour guide opportunities are on the beach and many hours are spent in the sun. High school and college students are encouraged to apply as summer is very busy. Tours begin at 7 am, and may last until 5pm. Tour Guides will be leading informational snorkel tours and lessons by giving a brief lessons about the importance of coral reefs in the ecosystem, teach guests the fundamentals of snorkeling to ensure they have a safe, comfortable, and enjoyable time, and contribute to our positive reviews by showing the best snorkeling spots and pointing out various species of reef fish. Tour guides have day to day responsibilities as well. Tour Guides will be compensated with $25-40 per tour + tip. Not required but helpful are Dive Certifications, CPR + First AID certifications, Tour Guide certifications, and any other experience/certifications. No experience is needed. This job is located in Lauderdale-by-the-sea and tour guides must have reliable transportation to the town. MANAGER: Managers must be able to complete all the duties of the tour guides, as sometimes managers will be the tour guide. Managers must also be able to lead others, be professional, be organized, be responsible, have good commutation skills, have an understanding of computers, and have great customer service skills. The manager will be responsible for the day to day operations of the business, handle all the online presence, handle customer services issues, manage tour guides, create schedules, and work closely with the owners to give status updates and carryout objectives.
