Description

Fig 🐰 needs a home šŸ  Fig was outside for almost two weeks, his owner decided they no longer wanted him. A concerned neighbor asked for help to catch him. He was dehydrated, thin and was showing signs of GI stasis when we caught him last Saturday. Whoever owned him did not handle him or play with him as much as they should’ve. So he is learning that not all people are bad and will snuggle into your chin when he’s being held. He loves to explore and definitely would be a bun that would love a bun castle or something he could climb on. He’s starting to come up to me during explore time for sniffs (before he would actively avoid me). He is slowly learning that humans are okay. He’s young, I would say under a year old. I’m assuming someone got him for Easter and then dumped him when he was no longer exciting to them. Home requirements: - New owners understand that rabbits live around 8 to 10 years and are a commitment - Rabbits require care from a veterinarian that handles exotics (not all do) - If there’s children in the home, the children are calm and respectful towards animals. They understand how to follow direction when interacting with them. - New owners understand that rabbits can be smelly if they’re not altered (spayed or neutered) and fed low quality food. It’s better for their overall health if they are altered and given good quality food. Altering a rabbit also helps tremendously with litter box training. - Fig was abandoned and left to fend for himself, he will need time (a few months) to adjust to his new home. - New owners understand that Fig needs them to spend time interacting with him on a daily basis. - Fig is an indoor bunny, he requires a set up that allows him to run around (free roam) safely. If you’re new to bunnies and are interested in learning more, I’m happy to answer any questions you have and talk you through rabbit care/proper food/housing set up. Bunnies are fun and social animals, they’ll seek you out for attention, use a litter box and surprise you with how intelligent they can be. Please share this post so we can get Fig a great home! If you’re interested, please send me a message 🐰 Location: Albany, NY (Would be willing to travel for a great home)
