My girlfriend and I are fostering an 11 year old female cat, who’s in her final years of life. Our hope was to offer this sweet little cat a happy environment to spend the last remaining time she has. Austin Pets Alive is treating the cat as a “hospice foster,” and is covering all medical expenses. The cat is very emaciated and has some chronic medical conditions that require her to get an IV every morning. Since my girlfriend and I don’t live together, it’s become apparent that the IV injections are more than either one of us can do alone, especially as the cat regains some strength. For this reason we are hoping we can find a more suitable foster situation, where she can be more adequately cared for.
