FREE EVENT Come experience the tranquil beauty of a loggerhead sea turtle nesting. Our biologists will educate participants on the sea turtles that nest along our coastline and inspire a deeper understanding and appreciation for our natural beach and dune systems. Participants will then be led onto the beach to quietly observe a loggerhead sea turtle nesting and returning to the ocean…an experience unlike any other in our area. Please be aware of the following details before signing up: Basics The chance to watch a nesting loggerhead sea turtleThe evening will begin with an informative presentation about the threatened and endangered sea turtles that nest in Palm Beach CountyThe evening may run as late as midnight (our biologists must wait for a loggerhead to come into the event zone and begin the nesting process prior to bringing guests onto the beach)There is no guarantee of seeing a turtleEvent will take place rain or shine but will be cancelled in the event of lightning (no rescheduling)Participants may need to walk up to a half mile in the dark on the beach, in potentially hot and humid conditions (please be SURE you are confident you can handle this experience).Wear comfortable clothing and keep in mind that there may be bugs.  Dark clothing is preferred to minimize the impact on nesting sea turtles. Bring your reusable water bottle.
