This is a hands-on learning and healing opportunity, specifically for birth workers (doulas, nurses, doctors, etc.). We will explore what trauma can mean, how it can be held in our bodies, how we may pass it on, and you will be given opportunities to help release trauma and be given some tools to cope in the future. Please dress comfortably, no formal-wear needed.
Georgia Stachofsky is a Music Therapist, who completed her Bachelor’s degree at IPFW, her 6 month internship, and passed her board certification exam on her first attempt. She has been practicing music therapy for over 4 years, and has pursued continuing education specifically in her field with Music Therapy and Mother-Infant Bonding, as well as completing “Level 1” training of Guided Imagery in Music. She currently is the owner and primary perinatal music therapist to her business, A Joyful Hope, LLC. Outside of her professional life, Georgia is a wife to Stephen, and a mom to two young boys, Samwise (almost 3 years old), and Luke (1 year old). She enjoys her time with her family, and looks forward to going to the dunes this summer.
This event is hosted by the Doula Network of Fort Wayne and is open to all birth workers. Please email [email protected] with any questions about accommodations or accessibility.
