IFSEL's Institutes builds on evidence based SEL practices and fosters collaboration, reflection and renewal. The Institute provides participants with inspiration and current research as well as experiential lesson materials. Throughout our time together, IFSEL’s facilitators will demonstrate a unique take on ten distinct educator practices that expand social and emotional learning, inclusivity, and well-being. Our SEL Institutes: Share core principles and practices for equity-rooted SEL in K-12 schoolsOffer experiential practices that spark creativity and renew inspiration for teachingHelp educators cultivate their teaching practices so that a strong sense of humanity and empathy inspires their students to evolve into compassionate leaders and resilient learnersProvide a space for educators to reconnect with joy and purpose through reflection, play and engagement with peersExplore skills, mindsets and heartsets to nurture community-wide SELStrengthen the capacity of educators to bring SEL to classrooms, curricula, and systems to transform schools into more inclusive and caring communitiesFinancial Aid IFSEL is committed to empowering all educators to attend our Summer Institutes and we have Financial Aid programs to support this vision. Health Policy IFSEL will comply with all national and local COVID Regulations and these will be monitored regularly for updates. Required: All attendees must be fully vaccinated with a vaccine approved by the Food and Drug Administration (FDA) or World Health Organization (WHO). A list of approved vaccines can be found here.Participants will be asked to follow venue rules and local guidance with respect to social distancing.Additional Health Safety Precautions: Catering will follow health and safety precautions including adequate spacing to promote social distancing and provide pre-packaged food options.Chairs will be set to allow social distancing.Hand sanitization stations will be placed throughout the venue to encourage frequent hand sanitization.We will follow best practices for attendees that include avoiding shaking hands.CEU Information Participants at our Summer Institute professional development programs are eligible for 2.0 CEU credits from Dominican University. More information about credits will be shared at the start of the course. If you are interested in applying, please let us know after the course is complete. The application will then be sent to you to submit to Dominican University, which administers the process. * Please note that Dominican University charges a fee of $55 per CEU unit. At this time, IFSEL is not able to provide credits for clinical counseling. Cancellation Policy Registration fees will be refunded at 50% of the registration ticket price paid, less the $50 refund processing cost, if requested in writing more than two-weeks prior to the start of the course. From two weeks prior to the start of the course until the day before the course begins, refunds requested in writing will be granted a credit for the full value of their registration ticket price.
