Using flowers and leaves collected from your garden, we will learn the basics of botanical printing by placing leaves and flowers on silk, learning about mordants, and using natural dyes to create a floral/leaf composition. Sofia Selden has been experimenting and learning about fiber and dyeing for the past ten years. Initially using chemical dyes and shibori techniques, she has ventured into indigo and natural dyes, and currently concentrates on botanical dyeing.
