Here is the list of events: Historical Perspectives: Slavery in Wake County and Genealogy Join our speakers for a presentation on learning about slavery in Wake County, the Wake County Enslaved Persons Project, and how you can connect to the past through genealogy. Speakers: Roxanne Buzille, Wake County Register of Deeds; Tammy Brunner, Wake County Register of Deeds; Wanda Cox-Bailey, Afro-American Historical Genealogical Society; Belle Long, Wake County Historical Society Monday, June 13 6pm-8pm Musical Reflections: Jazz and Spoken Word at the Park Listen to smooth jazz and poetry in the central plaza. Musical performance by Freddie Greene, the "Street Genie." Tuesday, June 14 6pm-8pm Juneteenth on Canvas Chavis is a great place to unwind and enjoy a beautiful cityscape. We will be painting Juneteenth-inspired art while listening to the smooth sounds of saxophonist Jashaun Peele. Wednesday, June 15 6pm-8pm African Fashion Show This experience will introduce you to African fashion, traditions, and inspiration from the African continent. Fashion for all ages will be represented. Fashion by Jacha Trends African Clothing, a division of KroCia, LLC.Thursday, June 16 6pm-8pm JCMP Juneteenth Jubilee: It Takes a Village John Chavis Memorial Park will be hosting a fun-filled day for the family to celebrate FAMILY. 10am-12pm Youth Aviation Academy Kickoff for youth in 4th-9th grade (Kit Airplane Build) 12-5pm Festival (Inflatables and Splash Pad, weather permitting; 12-3pm Entertainment, 3-5pm Day Party with DJ House and Soul Train Line) 5-7pm The Project 919 Band Saturday, June 18 10am-7pm
