Daddy's Beemer w/ Dinner Time, Tongues of Fire {at American Vinyl Co.} Presented by Grey Eagle Events ALL AGES Daddy's Beemer Dinner Time, Tongues Of Fire – 6PM DOORS / 7PM SHOW – ALL AGES – STANDING ROOM ONLY DADDY'S BEEMER Charleston-based band Daddy’s Beemer (comprising lead vocalist/guitarist Brady Sklar, multi-instrumentalist Dan Fetterolf, bassist Wesley Heaton, and newest addition, drummer Payton Kutyla) formed in 2016 at Clemson University, where they soon established their brand of dreamy, buoyant indie rock. Influences from across the pond like Two Door Cinema Club, The Kooks and The Cure mingled with the likes of REM and even Frank Ocean to form a left-field melting pot across their first EPs, Daddy’s Beemer (2017) and Pucker (2018). Meanwhile, they forged their identity on the road, playing over 200 shows since their inception and heading as far afield as New York and SXSW, all while building a rock-solid base in their home state of South Carolina. DINNER TIME Hailing from Atlanta, Georgia, DINNER TIME is a 5 piece band fusing genres of indie pop, nu-funk, slacker garage rock, and psychedelic music. Founded by lifelong friends, Alejandro, Andrew, London, Ian, and Chan, DINNER TIME offers a haven from the monotony in life with appetizing moods of the surf, sand, and sun, all in a coincident echo and chorus. In a leisurely, yet rowdy essence, DINNER TIME transports you into a mood only satiated by backyard hangs, chilled beverages, and mellowing out to a sunset with your best friends. Trademark uber-chorus guitars plunk and quack over tight soul meets pseudo-jazz breaks and grooves, all creating an atmosphere for short vignette-style vocals that paint with broad strokes and allow you to enter a new world of aesthetics with each track. ‘Halfway Down‘, the new record from DINNER TIME presents a darker contrast to the group’s previous work, a small departure from their established sound, and growth as a result of collaborative spirit and experimentation. DINNER TIME is in no mood to slow down or get distracted, and ‘Halfway Down‘ is a testament to that focus and their inevitable staying power. TONGUES OF FIRE Most bands fit cleanly within a genre but Tongues of Fire don't. At their heart they are a punk band, their shows are unhinged, the music is straightforward and hard hitting, there is no trace of pomp or excessiveness but they are accessible and there is a well crafted feel to what they do. The production on their albums is clean and the instrumentals deceptively complex. They have many contemporaries and influences like Bloc Party, Slint, IDLES and The Fall of Troy but can't be compared to them. Tongues of Fire are firmly themselves, and intent on moving the scene forward.
