Description
OAK CREEK, WI — As summer weather hits Wisconsin and warmer times seem near, trucks will soon be transporting bushels of peaches from the south to sell across the Milwaukee area, including Oak Creek.
One company that's been doing it since the '90s, Tree-Ripe Fruit Co., touts its peaches as the "juiciest, sweetest and freshest Georgia peaches possible." Tree-Ripe plans to make stops in and around Oak Creek starting in June, according to the company's website.
The peaches come from Pearson Farm, a 1400-acre grove of peach trees in Georgia, according to Tree-Ripe's website.
When the truck's come to town, you'll be able to get a 1/2 bushel case of peaches, about 25 pounds, for $45, according to Tree-Ripe. Other fruits such as blueberries from Michigan or pecans from Georgia are also expected to join the trucks at certain points in the summer.
