HAVRE DE GRACE, MD — The Havre de Grace Arts Collective is hosting two tropical events this weekend, one of which sold out. The Lighthouse Luau at Concord Point Park is slated for 4 to 9 p.m. on Saturday, June 11, at 700 Concord Street. Sights and sounds of the South Pacific will be on display courtesy of Meki's Tamure Polynesian Arts Group, including songs and dances from Hawaii, Tonga, Tahiti, New Zealand, Fiji and the Samoas. Among them will be the "world-famous Samoan Flaming Fire Knife Dance," according to organizers. MacGregor's is catering a Polynesian dinner, with one adult beverage included in the $75 ticket price. Get tickets to the Lighthouse Luau here. (Editor's note: They appear to have sold out.) In line with the theme, youths will be able to make luau leis, paper flowers and other summer decorations in a free event hosted by the Havre de Grace Arts Collective at the fire hall studio at the Opera House from 10 to 11:30 a.m. on Saturday, June 11, at 121 N. Union Ave. Register here for the free Luau Leis, Paper Flowers and Deluxe Summer Decorations program. The event is part of the Youth Arts Program.
