Press release from San Diego County Sheriff's Department: June 9, 2022 On 6/9/22, at approximately 0720 hours, Deputies from the Sheriff's Transit Enforcement Unit responded to a report of a pedestrian that was struck by a Westbound Sprinter train in the city of Vista. The pedestrian was fatally struck on the rail road tracks near the intersection of Main Street and South Santa Fe Avenue. Deputies are investigating the incident. The manner of death will be determined by the San Diego County Medical Examiner's Office.
