MENDOTA HEIGHTS, MN — Mendota Heights resident Terry Zien was recently honored by the U.S. Army Corps of Engineers, St. Paul District. An employee of the Corps' St. Paul District, Zien earned one of the four Civil Servant of the Year awards, the Corps said. Zien received the Customer Service award, and works in flood plain management services and the Silver Jackets Program, which helps to mitigate flood risk, according to the Corps. "There are two things that really set Terry apart, his engineering knowledge of flood risk reduction and his incredible ability to build lasting relationships with our partners and stakeholders," Nathan Wallerstedt, St. Paul District project management branch chief and Zien's supervisor, said. "Everyone knows Terry, and he is very knowledgeable resource in our line of work." More information is available here.
