Socially distanced live music at a brand new venue in Cedar Rapids! Andersen Coates is a singer-songwriter and guitarist from Cedar Rapids, IA. Drawing from influences such as Tom Petty, Jakob Dylan, Jon Foreman, and Jason Isbell, Andersen creates a unique blend of heartland pop rock, with driving guitars, thoughtful lyrics, and distinctively gritty baritone vocals at the forefront. As an artist and guitarist, Andersen has appeared on stages across the Midwest, ranging from local coffeeshops to the Iowa State Fair and Brucemore Mansion. Accolades such as first place finishes in Iowa State University's Cyclone Voice and CyFactor talent competitions have aided Andersen in his establishment as an artist and performer. His debut EP, "Gunpowder Heart," is currently in production, featuring contributions from a number of nationally-recognized musicians. Joining Andersen for this evening of music is an excellent group of backing musicians, including Jim Coates (guitar and vocals), Phil Davidson (bass), and Al Fear (drums). Due to COVID-19 restrictions, capacity will be capped at 75 for this event, and tickets will be issued on a first-come, first-served basis.
