Here we go. Another starving original band guy who is a purist and hates cover bands raising his original artist flag. If you choose to drive 2 hours away for a little bit of money and exposure no one stops you from doing this. Its your decision so go for it. But the thing is guys like you who hate cover bands think your doing the right thing cause you write your own tunes and sacrifice everything to get your songs out there but think cover bands have no talent cause they are just copying someones elses work. Maybe the thing is guys like you are jealous cause you don't know how to go about putting a successful cover band together to make good money. And fact of the matter is a good amount of guys in cover bands are also in original bands playing shows just like you but instead of being broke use the money they make from covers to afford to do original music. I don't get what the rub is every time this topic comes up. Whats the problem with doing both of you choose to? If you want to go work a job again go for it. Most guys in cover bands do work day gigs and and besides the cover band do originals. Frigging guys in this forum most of the time sound like cry babies or martyrs and just have to tell your stories about how your going to take over the world with your music and anyone doing anything else just don't matter. Give me a break. Mind your own business and do what you do and stop judging.
