Description
Hey everyone, Finch is a 5.5mo old Miniature Australian Shepherd Sheltie Mix pup who is looking for his new home. Preferably with a family who has a large space (1-5 acres, jobs for him to do, etc)
Originally we kept him as a potential service dog for my son Hollis but he just doesn't seem to fit that job title and that's okay! He needs a busy life and a few jobs through the day to keep him happy.
This boy is incredibly smart and easily trainable. He knows basic commands once you get him settled and able to focus. He is very excited about everything going on in his life.
This boy has been raised in a preschool setting so he is used to several people coming on and off the property and playing primarily with other dogs and kids. We've been working with him on lots of things on kids and he's slowly getting it with a few reminders.
No food guarding with people but he does tend to food guard around other dogs. We worked with him a lot in the beginning regarding the food guarding as he was showing some signs of resource guarding after he turned 7 weeks old.
Finch is more on the dominant spectrum and would do best with other dogs who are not on the dominant spectrum. He has been raised with both female and male dogs and tends to challenge other male dogs from what we've seen.
