Gov't Mule bassist Jorgen Carlsson joined Devi for A Zillion Stars Overhead, "a collection of dreamy rockers and blistering psychedelic jams" (Relix) mixed by Sylvia Massy that Americana Highways calls “exciting and mesmerizing.” Devi's growing acclaim as "one of the most remarkable guitarists on the East Coast." (Good Times) has led to opening slots for roots artists like Ana Popovic, Devon Allman, Joan Osborne and Marshall Crenshaw, and festival dates from Memphis to Montana. Live, Devi leads "a fierce guitar-driven band equally adept at soulful rockers and sprawling jams" (NY Music Daily), with Kevin Jones on bass, Martin Schmid on keys and John Roccesano on drums. Led by singer-songwriter Joe Makoviecki and stand-up bassist James Black, Jackson Pines takes its cues from the ethos of folk, blues, and indie rock, telling stories of hard times, overflowing love, disappointment, and hope. In 2017, Jackson Pines released Purgatory Road, produced by Simone Felice (The Felice Brothers, The Lumineers) and the Lost & Found EP to critical acclaim. Billboard noted that "Jackson Pines already has a collection of music that presents a unique lyrical take on life, bringing a rustic flair to the world of indie-folk/acoustic music,” adding, “They've only just begun." After touring the US and UK, Jackson Pines released Close to Home in July 2021. "These guys are ‘workers in song,' to quote Leonard Cohen,” says Simone Felice. “They are engaged in the pursuit of music and songwriting for all the right reasons, the honest burning hunt to reach the heights." Recipients of multiple local awards in their home state (Asbury Music Awards/Jersey Acoustic Music Awards), Jackson Pines have opened for Old Crow Medicine Show, Margo Price, The Avett Brothers, Dr. Dog, Nicole Atkins, The Felice Brothers, Band of Horses and more. www.jacksonpines.com
