Dialectical Behavior Therapy (DBT), founded by Marsha Linehan, is a modified type of cognitive behavioral therapy (CBT). It has been shown to help individuals who have difficulty with emotional regulation, disordered eating, anxiety, depression, and those have a history of trauma, suicidal ideation, or urges to self-harm. As time has progressed, DBT has been identified as an evidence-based approach that is beneficial for children, teens, and adults, in managing emotions and maintaining healthy & respectful relationships.
This interactive one-hour psychoeducational workshop is for parents, guardians, and caregivers of young, elementary/early middle school children. Learn about the 7 Steps of Problem Solving that are practiced within DBT, and ways to apply these skills at home with your young one(s), so they can independently navigate conflict.
Friday July 29th from 3-4pm
