Press release from Hillsborough Community College: 06/09/2022 (TAMPA, Fla.) - Hillsborough Community College (HCC) will host the Art and Innovation Summer Market on Saturday, June 18, from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. at the Dale Mabry Campus. This indoor event will feature over 30 entrepreneurs from the College and local community. "HCC is committed to supporting the Hillsborough County small business community," said HCC President Dr. Ken Atwater. "This event brings together our state-of-the-art entrepreneurship center with our campus art galleries to provide a crossroad to art and innovation in Tampa Bay." The market was created to help support businesses as they continue to recover from the impact of the COVID-19 pandemic. "Over the past several years, we have noticed an increasing number of entrepreneurship students seeking to start art-related and social entrepreneurial businesses," said Beth Kerly, InLab@HCC co-founder. "From a faculty perspective, working alongside these students has been an extraordinarily inspiring journey." Hosted by the InLab@HCC and Gallery221@HCC, this free event is funded by Hillsborough County and the HCC Foundation. There will be music and food available to attendees. "We are delighted to support an event that creates a bridge between the community and everyday small businesses to help accelerate a recovery in the arts community," said Amanda Poss, HCC gallery director.
