--Roofer Job Summary-- As a skilled Residential Roofer, you will work alongside our team of roofers to repair and replace shingle and other roofing materials at our customers job sites. --Roofer Duties and Responsibilities-- Remove, install or repair residential roof materials, such as shingles and tiles. Preparing surfaces for new shingles or waterproofing Cut and shape roofing materials to the proper size Working on Flat and/or Pitched Roofs Confirming that roofing materials are aligned with edges of roofs Cementing or nailing flashing-strips of metal or shingle over joints to ensure that they are watertight Inspecting the work area to ensure that all required materials are present Smoothing and leveling roof surfaces by smoothing out rough spots Clean up job site upon completion General roofing knowledge with Bitumen, TPO, EPD, PVC, Metal, Asphalt, Shingles, Single Ply, EPDM Roofing, Tile, Gutters --Roofer Requirements and Qualifications-- High school diploma or GED certificate (preferred) Valid driver's license and reliable transportation Prior roofing experience or on-the-job training Familiarity with various hand tools, including shingle cutters and hatchets Comfortable working in various weather conditions Ability to lift heavy materials Can withstand extensive bending, kneeling for long periods Adhere to construction site safety
