BOSTON, MA — A Naugatuck man accused of selling counterfeit tickets to an NBA Finals Game was arrested Wednesday night outside TD Garden in Boston, according to police. In a news release posted to Facebook, Boston Police said officers arrested Jeffrey Hall, 29, of Naugatuck, around 8:30 p.m. in the area of Causeway Street outside the arena. According to police, officers were on patrol near the arena during Game 3 of the Boston Celtics vs. Golden State Warriors series when they found Hall with counterfeit tickets to the game in his possession. Officers also learned Hall was wanted on warrant out of Wrentham District Court on forged admission ticket and unlicensed ticket resale charges, police said. Hall was arrested on the outstanding warrant. He was also scheduled to appear in court this week on charges related to the fake tickets found by officers Wednesday, police said. Boston Police also reminded sports fans to be wary of counterfeits when purchasing tickets for upcoming NBA Finals games. "The BPD encourages fans to only buy tickets from authorized ticket agencies," police said on Facebook. "Fans who purchase tickets from a secondary source are taking a chance and do so at the buyer's own risk. Officers want to proactively curb such activity and encourage buyers to only purchase from official vendors. Purchasing via other means creates the potential for possessing an invalid and/or counterfeit ticket."
