NAUGATUCK, CT — Officers were called to an Osborn Road home Thursday around 5:30 p.m. after a homeowner returned home for the evening and interrupted a burglary in progress, police said. According to a news release, police believed the suspects were armed and still inside the home when officers arrived in the area. As a result, additional officers and police K9s were requested. After further investigation, police discovered the suspects had fled the home prior to officers' arrival. Police said they continued to maintain a heavy presence in the area Thursday night, however there was no threat to the community. "The preliminary investigation indicates that this was not a random occurrence, but that the victim may have been targeted," police said in a news release. Police also posted a video of the suspects, captured by home security systems, on the department's Facebook page. It can be viewed here. Anyone with information is asked to contact the Naugatuck Police Department at 203-729-5222 or the NPD confidential tip line at 203-720-1010.
