Neapolitan Pizza Arrives With Pupatella Opening At Mosaic District

MERRIFIELD, VA — Pupatella, the locally-based pizza chain known for its Neapolitan pizzas, is now open at the Mosaic District. The outdoor shopping destination confirmed the restaurant opening via social media. The location is 2980 District Avenue Suite 140, Fairfax, VA. Aside from Neapolitan pizza, Pupatella's menu offers other Italian specialties. Appetizers include several varieties of aranici, bruschetta, burrata, meatballs and more. Diners can also build their own panini sandwiches or try specialities like the salami panino, prosciutto, fresh mozzarella and tomato panino, meatball panino and veggie panino with roasted red peppers, mushrooms, spinach and mozzarella. A caprese salad and other salad options can be ordered as well. Desserts like the Nutella pizza and fritters with sugar and Nutella top off the menu. Temporary hours are 12 p.m. to 3 p.m. and 5 p.m. to 9 p.m. daily. The restaurant is closed between lunch and dinner for cleaning from 3:30 p.m. to 4 p.m. The restaurant will also be closed on major holidays. Pupatella was founded in 2007 by Enzo Algarme, a Naples, Italy native who wanted to share traditional Neapolitan pizza in the U.S. Its original location is along Wilson Boulevard in Arlington. Other locations have opened in South Arlington, DC's Dupont Circle, Reston, Richmond, and now the Mosaic District. Future locations are planned in West Springfield, DC, and Leesburg.
