LORTON, VA — Amazon Fresh will be opening a new location in Lorton on June 23, offering customers Just Walk Out Shopping, which gives customers the option to skip the checkout line. Customers can also take advantage of a coupon found in their weekly circular for $10 off an order of $20 or more for shopping trips made at the store. Customers may use the paper coupon at the Just Walk Out exit or at the traditional checkout. The Amazon Fresh store, with a size of about 38,000 square feet, will be located at 9409 Lorton Market Street in Lorton. The store hours will be 7 a.m. to 10 p.m. The grocery store also opened a new location in Manassas on Thursday and will be opening a new location in Arlington in the coming weeks. In April, Amazon Fresh opened a new location in Fairfax City. Amazon Fresh has a wide assortment of national brands and high-quality produce, meat and seafood, as well as a many prepared foods made fresh in store every day, from fresh-baked bread and made-to-order pizzas to rotisserie chickens and hot sandwiches like a brisket panini. The store offers 365 by Whole Foods Market organics, plus national brands like Coca-Cola and Kraft Mac and Cheese; local brands like Mason Dixie Biscuits, Bread Furst Bakery, and Taharka Brothers Ice Cream, and regional favorites like Duke's Mayo, Ellenos Yogurt and Boston Chowda. Customers who opt for Just Walk Out Shopping can enter the store by scanning the in-store QR code in their Amazon app, using Amazon One, or inserting a credit or debit card to open the Just Walk Out gates. Once inside the store, customers can shop like normal. Anything they take off the shelf is automatically added to their virtual cart, and anything they put back on the shelf comes out of their virtual cart. Amazon Fresh accepts cash, SNAP/EBT, credit or debit card, or customers can use the In-Store QR code in the Amazon app. Amazon Fresh said it is offering a starting wage of $15.50 an hour to its employees.
