Description

TOMS RIVER, NJ — Traffic on the J. Stanley Tunney Bridge from Seaside Heights will be reduced to one lane starting Monday for what the state Department of Transportation says are priority deck repairs to the bridge. The work is scheduled to begin Monday and will be done from 7 a.m. to 4 p.m. Monday through Thursday through June 23, the state Department of Transportation said. The right two lanes will be closed while NJDOT's contractor PKF-Mark III makes the repairs. Traffic on the Route 37 eastbound Mathis Bridge will not be affected. This work is part of a $9.6 million statewide Drawbridge Preventative Maintenance Contract. Message signs are being utilized to provide advance notification to the motoring public of all traffic pattern changes associated with the work. The precise timing of the work is subject to change due to weather or other factors.
