L.E.A.D Fest Coming To Mercer County June 24-July 4

MERCER COUNTY, NJ — Get ready to enjoy music, food, rides, and lots of entertainment beginning June 24 at the L.E.A.D Fest State Fair. The event, hosted by the Law Enforcement Against Drugs & Violence, will be held at the Mercer County Park in West Windsor and will feature food, rides and lots of entertainment. Top country and folk bands including Roots & Boots, Kentucky Headhunters, and Marshall Tucker Band will be performing. "We're looking forward to kicking off this summer by hosting both concerts and seeing the turnout at Mercer County Park, since purchasing a ticket will grant the public to attend the bands' performances as well as enjoy the activities at our fair," Nick DeMauro, CEO of L.E.A.D., said in a statement. "The funds made from every one of our events are put toward bettering our anti-drug, anti-violence program, so we're excited to see how the concerts held at the fair will benefit how we continue to create safer, healthier communities." Through the "on the street" and "in the classroom" programs, law enforcement works with the community to address issues like drugs and violence. The "in the classroom" program is taught by 3000 trained instructors in 41 states, including New Jersey. Read More: East Brunswick Police Officer Helps Students Make Good Choices At the fest, attendees can enjoy activities like a pie-eating contest, a petting farm and entertainment by Granpa Cratchet and Robinson's Racing Pigs, which are all included in the general admission price of $5 during the week and $8 during the weekend. The fair will also have CowTown, an all-day exhibit containing an old-time creamery, in which attendees can participate in preparing a cow for milking and experience the process of making butter, ice cream and cheese by using historic tools. Here is the schedule for performances: Sunday, June 26: Tequila Rose- 4 p.m. to 7 p.m. Roots & Boots- 8 p.m. to 10 p.m. Saturday, July 2: Southern Steel: 3 p.m. to 5:30 p.m. Kentucky Headhunters: 6 p.m. to 7:30 p.m. Marshall Tucker Band: 8 p.m. to 10 p.m. Tickets range from $30 to $95 and $30 to $75.
