NEWARK, NJ - A woman wanted in connection to a Texas killing was last spotted in Newark Liberty International Airport in May, authorities said. Kaitlyn Armstrong, 34, a yoga teacher and real estate agent, was last seen at the airport on May 18, one day after police in Austin, T.X. obtained a warrant for her arrest the U.S. Marshals Service announced Monday. Armstrong is accused of killing Anna Moriah Wilson, 25, a professional cyclist from Vermont who was found on May 11 with multiple gunshot wounds at an Austin residence. Armstrong previously made "prior statements expressing a desire to kill Wilson," according to the New York Post, reporting that Wilson is an ex of Armstrong's boyfriend. The outlet also reports that Armstrong was "mistakenly released from custody" due to her date of birth not matching the date filed in police records. "Kaitlin Armstrong is accused of a very serious crime that she needs to answer for," said U.S. Marshal for the western District of Texas Susan Pamerleau. "The best thing she can do at this point, wherever she is, is surrender to authorities, so she can return safely to Austin and answer the charges against her. She needs to know the Marshals are not going to stop looking for her." A search of flight reservations at Newark Liberty International Airport made under Armstrong's name yielded no results, U.S. Marshals said. Investigators determined Armstrong boarded a flight out of Austin International Bergstrom Airport on May 14 to Houston Hobby Airport, then flew via Southwest Airlines to New York LaGuardia Airport before ending up in New Jersey. There is a $5,000 award for information leading up to Armstrong's arrest. According to the U.S. Marshals Service, she is white, stands 5 feet 8 inches and weighs approximately 125 pounds. She has light brown long, curly hair and hazel eyes and was last seen on surveillance video wearing a blue denim jacket, black shirt with a pink design on the chest, white jeans, black and white tennis shoes, a black COVID mask, and a possible yoga mat carrier on her shoulders at Newark Liberty International Airport. Those with information on Armstrong's whereabouts are urged to contact the U.S. Marshals Service Communications Center at 1-800-336-0102 or submit a tip using the USMS Tips app. Tips can also be sent to the Capital Area Crime Stoppers at 1-800-893-8477.
