LOUDOUN COUNTY, VA — A Sterling Middle School teacher faces charges after he was accused of assaulting two students in a classroom, according to the Loudoun County Sheriff's Office. Police said the teacher pushed one student off a chair and pulled a chair out from under another student. Neither of the students were seriously injured in the assaults, authorities said. Police identified the teacher as Jinwoo Noh, a 43-year-old man from Centreville. Noh taught science at Sterling Middle School, Loudoun County Public Schools told Patch. Noh is charged with two counts of simple assault and battery. The Loudoun County Sheriff's Office said deputies issued summonses to Noh on Wednesday. Simple assault and battery is a class one misdemeanor in Virginia. If convicted, Noh could face up to 2 years in prison for the two charges. The sheriff's office said authorities learned of the assaults on Monday after one of the incidents was posted to social media. In a police report, authorities claimed Noh grabbed and a student and pushed them off a chair. In a separate incident, he pulled a chair out from under a student, causing the child to fall to the ground, according to the sheriff's office. Loudoun County Public Schools told Patch that Noh is on leave.
