LEMONT, IL — Lemont High School's softball team is heading to the state championship game after defeating Antioch, 3-1, in the semifinals.
Nicole Pontrelli belted an RBI triple, Raegan Duncan and Natalie Pacyga each drove in runs, and Sage Mardjetko struck out 12, the school said.
The team, coached by Chris Traina, is headed to the IHSA Class 3A state championship game for the second straight season. It will be the program's third state title game appearance, according to the school.
Lemont will face the winner of the St. Ignatius and Mahomet-Seymour semifinal at 11:30 a.m. on Saturday at Louisville Slugger Sports Complex in Peoria.
