While Pierre is a sweet boy, he was a stray for some time up until he was found a few years ago. He is extremely territorial and protective of his owner/pack. He gets worked up and barks at the noise of anyone walking by the house, voices or noises he suspects could be intruders. Fortunately he comes with a Citronella spray collar which sprays a little harmless/annoying Citronella in his face whenever he barks/attacks. He has learned not to bark anymore while the collar is on. He will (viciously seeming) attack any extended family, friends, strangers he is unfamiliar with who enters your home. His bark is much louder than his bite. He doesn't really bite. It is more of a nip that feels like an uncomfortable tickle. You will need to be prepared to put him in another room or crate when you have people over with his citronella collar on. The only way that he will be Ok with another person entering the home is if you have dropped him off with that person and they have spent 1 on 1 time with him. He will sometimes lash out and attack strangers in public settings. The rare attacks are less noticeable or alarming if he has his citronella collar on. Again, he does not bite....it is really just a nip. I think with the proper training, disciple and loving owner, his behavior will greatly improve. Pierre loves walks, children, the beach and chasing birds off leash or anything that flies (including fly's :). He will follow you around and devote himself entirely to you and give you all of his love. He is a great dog for a private person/family who hopefully have some space to let him run around. He does fine with other dogs and children. I am not asking for any money however I will require a non negotiable proof of a $500 payment to a dog trainer for you to work with him prior to releasing him.
