CONTRA COSTA COUNTY, CA — Crews from multiple agencies responded to a wildfire Thursday afternoon near Brentwood that ballooned to 200 acres by 5:15 p.m. The blaze is now 75 percent contained. The wind-driven blaze erupted around 2:15 p.m. Thursday at Marsh Creek Road and Walnut Boulevard and was dubbed the Marsh Fire. "Firefighters are making good progress and will remain on scene for several hours," Cal Fire said. A Sigalert was issued for Vasco Road, which was closed south of the city of Brentwood between Marsh Creek Road and Camino Diablo. Walnut Boulevard was also closed between Vasco and Marsh Creek.
